The AN970-8 is a flat, large-area washer for 1/2 in bolt applications. Its broad bearing surface is intended to distribute bolt or nut loading over a wider area than an AN960 washer.

Manufactured from carbon steel with cadmium plating, this washer is specified for use on wooden structures beneath the bolt head and nut to help prevent surface crushing.
