The AN320-5 is a castellated shear nut for aviation hardware applications. It features a 5/16-24 thread and is fabricated from steel with a cadmium-plated finish.

As an AN320 series shear nut, its castellated slots are designed to accommodate a cotter pin for positive locking. This thinner shear-nut style is intended for use in applications subject to shear loading, such as suitable clevis-bolt or threaded taper-pin installations, where specified by the applicable engineering data.
