The Insight EGT Probe P/N 2870 is an exhaust gas temperature probe for Insight engine-monitoring installations. It uses a K-type thermocouple with red/yellow conductors in a yellow lead, allowing connection where the correct Insight probe specification is required.

The probe features a special-alloy sheath and an adjustable stainless-steel #44 clamp. The clamp is stated by the manufacturer to fit exhaust pipes from approximately 33 to 57 mm diameter. The probe tip is installed through a hole in the exhaust stack and retained by the clamp.
