Permatex® High Performance Thread Sealant is a 50 mL thread sealant formulated for metal tapered pipe-thread fittings. It contains PTFE and is intended to replace thread-sealing tape and conventional pipe dopes where an applicable maintenance procedure calls for this type of material.

The manufacturer states that the sealant cures rapidly, helps prevent thread galling, and protects mated threaded areas from rust and corrosion. It is designed for threaded metal fittings in hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel and cooling systems, and is not recommended for plastics or rubber.

Overview

OEM specified. Formulated specifically for metal, tapered pipe thread fittings, it replaces thread seal tape and pipe dopes. Cures rapidly to withstand 10,000 PSI. Prevents galling and protects mated threaded areas from rust and corrosion. Contains PTFE.

Suggested Applications: Stainless steel fittings, head bolts into through holes, oil PSI sending units/sensors, oil and coolant lines, intake manifold switches, rear axle fill plug, fuel fittings.
