The Bruce's Custom Covers HP1-000 Pitot Cover is a protective cover designed to slip over the pitot assembly and tighten around the base with a hook-and-loop fastening strap. It is made from Naugahyde vinyl and includes a remove-before-flight streamer for clear pre-flight visibility.

The manufacturer describes the non-burning pitot-cover design as able to withstand temperatures above 260 °C, helping to prevent the cover from melting onto the probe if pitot heat is inadvertently switched on while the cover is installed.
