Toms Oil Filter Cutting Tool

Tom’s Oil Filter Cutting Tool is a maintenance tool designed to open spin-on oil filters for inspection of the filter media and any trapped debris. Filter-media inspection can support routine assessment of engine condition during scheduled maintenance.

The cutter is designed to make a filter-can cut in a single pass, rather than requiring repeated passes around the filter as with a conventional tubing-style cutter.

• Designed primarily for Lycoming-style oil filters with a protruding threaded insert.
• Supplied with an adapter insert for filters without this protruding insert, including certain Lycoming and most Continental-style filters.
• Can be reconfigured for smaller filters, such as those used on Rotax or automotive engines, by repositioning the pivot bolt and removing the cutter handle as required.
• Supplied as one each.
