The ATS E5A High Voltage Cable Tester is a solid-state workshop test instrument for assessing aircraft engine ignition cables. It produces shaped, low-current high-voltage pulses with a profile intended to simulate magneto output, helping maintenance personnel identify cable insulation or leakage faults during ignition-system troubleshooting.

Designed for straightforward operation, the E5A automatically operates from 12 V or 24 V DC aircraft battery systems. A safety power indicator warns when the unit is armed and ready, while heavy-duty lead wires support regular maintenance use.

The Model E5 High Voltage Cable Tester tests Hi-Voltage aircraft engine ignition cables quickly and accurately. And it's incredibly easy to use: simply connect the three wires, push the test button and check the test window. That's all there is to it. By simulating the magneto's high output voltage, the E5 instantly identifies both good and defective cables. And it operates on either 12 or 24 volts,D.C.
