The DRDT-2 Rivet Dimpler is a welded steel C-frame tool designed for lever-operated dimpling of aluminium sheet material. Its deep-reach frame and mechanical leverage provide a controlled alternative to impact-operated C-frame dimplers for workshop sheet-metal tasks.

  • Approx. 559 mm throat depth, allowing access across sheets up to approximately 1,118 mm wide
  • Approx. 102 mm frame gap, with lower-frame relief for improved access around structural sheet-metal features
  • Manufacturer-stated capacity: aluminium sheet up to 1.0 mm thick
  • Accepts dimple dies with 4.8 mm (3/16 in) shanks

Supplied ready for assembly and dimpling; minor assembly is required. Dimple dies are not included.

Overview

DRDT-2 (Dash 2) is a welded steel c-frame rivet dimpler. It replaces the common impact c-frame rivet dimplers of the past. With its sample mechanical advantage, dimpling is fast, easy, noise free, less fatiguing and safe on the skins. With a fully adjustable die holder you can achieve consistent and accurate dimples**. The DRDT-2 incorporates a new low force spring return system that prevents skin damage from the accidental release of the handle without increasing the force required to dimple. 22" throat depth allows dimpling of up to 44" wide sheets. The relief under the lower frame member provides dimpling access to spars, ribs, leading edge skins. Designed and analyzed using state of the art engineering tools the DRDT-2 can handle all your dimpling needs on your project.

Now dimpling is consistent, easy, safe, less fatiguing and noise free. Now you can dimple at anytime day or night without disturbing your family or neighbors. The experimental aircraft builder can now achieve commercial quality results in their our own shop.

The DRDT-2 is painted with an industrial powder coat giving one of the toughest finishes available. The -2 comes ready to dimple (minor assembly required).
