The Garmin Lightning Protection Module with G5 Install Kit is an installation kit for Garmin G5 electronic flight instrument installations. Manufacturer part number: 010-12493-11.

The kit incorporates a Lightning Protection Module (LPM) into a D-sub backshell. The module provides additional protection devices for CAN signals and the Aircraft Power 1 input.

Kit contents include:

  • Lightning Protection Module assembly, P/N 011-05224-00
  • Size 20 MIL-crimp socket contact, P/N 336-00022-02
  • 9/15-pin jackscrew backshell clamp, P/N 115-01078-00
  • 9/15-pin jackscrew backshell cover, P/N 115-01079-00
  • D-sub MIL-crimp socket plug connector, P/N 330-00625-09
  • Associated stainless-steel screws with nylon patch
  • Mounting bracket/ring
