The MGL Avionics Stratomaster Vega ALT-5 is a compact 57 mm digital altimeter and vertical speed indicator (VSI) designed for an aircraft instrument panel. Its colour LCD is specified for sunlight readability and provides altitude and vertical-speed information in configurable display units.

The instrument uses an internal 24-bit digital altitude sensor with a stated operating display range from -457 m to 10,668 m. Altitude may be displayed in feet or metres, while local pressure can be set in millibars or inches of mercury. The integrated VSI supports feet per minute or metres per second, with user calibration available after installation.
