The ACK Technologies E-04R is a retrofit kit intended for conversion of an existing ACK E-01 emergency locator transmitter installation to the ACK E-04 406/121.5 MHz ELT configuration. The kit includes a whip antenna and is designed for E-01 retrofit applications rather than a complete new ELT installation.

The E-04R is GPS-capable and accepts position input from compatible Garmin Aviation, Bendix/King Aviation and NMEA 0183 GPS sources.

According to ACK Technologies, the retrofit kit does not include the remote control panel indicator, remote cable, antenna coaxial cable, mounting tray or straps. Installation should be performed in accordance with the current manufacturer documentation and applicable airworthiness requirements.
