The ARTEX ELT 1000 Base Pack, manufacturer part number 8207, is a 406 MHz emergency locator transmitter package supplied with the 8603 white rod antenna and 8304 remote switch. It provides a single RF output for 406 MHz emergency transmission and 121.5 MHz homing transmission through one coaxial connection.

The ELT 1000 incorporates a built-in GPS navigational interface and can be activated automatically by its primary G-switch or manually. Its remote control provides ON, ARM and TEST functions, while the self-test function checks G-switch status, 406 MHz power, antenna/coax connection and low-battery condition.
