The Yaesu FTA-550L is a handheld VHF airband NAV/COM transceiver with a lithium-ion battery. Identified by manufacturer part number FTA-550L 110V, it combines aircraft-band communications with VOR and ILS navigation display functions in a portable unit.

The FTA-550 features a large backlit 160 × 160-dot LCD, an icon-driven menu system and illuminated keypad for straightforward operation. It supports both 25 kHz and 8.33 kHz channel spacing, offers 200 programmable memory channels with alphanumeric labels, and provides 5 W transmit output on the airband.
