The MGL Avionics SP-6 is a solid-state magnetometer and electronic compass sensor designed to provide magnetic-heading information for compatible MGL Avionics flight-instrument systems.

  • Three-axis magnetoresistive magnetic-field sensor.
  • Integrated three-axis MEMS accelerometer for tilt compensation.
  • Advanced in-flight calibration designed to compensate for hard- and soft-iron magnetic effects from ferromagnetic materials installed in the aircraft.
  • When used with an SP-7 AHRS on the same communications link, heading tilt compensation can use gyro-based attitude data.
  • Manufacturer-published dimensions: approximately 88 × 73 × 30 mm, excluding cables.
