The Sandia Aerospace STX 165R is a compact remote-mounted Mode A/C transponder for installations where equipment size, weight and electrical consumption are important considerations. Manufacturer part number: 705831-00.

Its solid-state transmitter provides nominal 200 W output with no warm-up time. The unit accepts Gillham Grey Code or RS-232 altitude data for Mode C operation, and its functions can be controlled remotely through the RS-232 interface.
