TCW Smart Start Kit

The TCW SmartStart Kit, manufacturer part number SS-12V-KIT, is an electronic starter-system control kit for Experimental aircraft. It is designed to control a standard aviation starter contactor and support integration with control-stick or panel-mounted start switches.

The kit includes a SmartStart SS-12V control module, approximately 2.4 m wiring harness, and an airspeed switch. The system uses interlock and arming inputs with a 1-minute timer to limit starter-contactor activation time. An armed LED output is provided to indicate when the start system is enabled.

• 16 V DC maximum related voltage
• 10 A peak solid-state output with flyback-diode protection
• 9-pin male D-sub connector on the controller
• Compatible with standard aviation starter contactors
• Control module dimensions: approximately 38 × 32 × 20 mm
