The GS-46 is a non-rechargeable lithium manganese dioxide battery pack intended for 406 ELT emergency beacon applications. It provides 9.8 VDC output and is designed to deliver the 5 W power requirement stated for 406 ELTs.

The individual cells are encapsulated in silicone potting material to support structural integrity, moisture resistance and protection from environmental exposure. The battery pack is designed for replacement by opening the ELT cover, removing the existing battery and connecting the replacement unit, in accordance with the applicable equipment maintenance documentation.
