The ARTEX G406-4 Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT), manufacturer part number 455-5019, is a G406-4 configuration associated by the manufacturer with a fibreglass rod antenna.

The G406-4 transmits on the 121.5 MHz, 243 MHz and 406 MHz emergency frequencies. It is designed for automatic activation following a crash event, with manual activation also provided. The 406 MHz transmission communicates a digital distress message through the Cospas-Sarsat satellite system.
