The Gear Warning System, manufacturer part number 2048, is an airspeed-activated landing-gear warning system described for experimental amphibian aircraft. It provides audible voice and visual warnings when the detected landing-gear position is not appropriate for a runway or water landing.

  • Adjustable airspeed activation setting from 45 to 120 mph.
  • Designed for aircraft with 1, 3 or 4 gear-position indicator lights, or with simple gear-position switches.
  • Provides runway-landing, water-landing and check-landing-gear voice alerts through the built-in speaker and headset audio.
  • Panel-mounted illuminated switch supports system self-test and temporary disengagement for slow flight.
  • Built-in time delay helps prevent false activation from airspeed fluctuations.
  • Can accept an optional flap-switch input to initiate the landing sequence when flaps are fully extended.
  • Includes an airspeed-activated switch that closes above 45 mph for auxiliary functions such as compatible transponder or Hobbs-meter activation.
