The J.P. Instruments M-113 is an 18 mm cylinder head temperature (CHT) gasket probe for JPI EDM engine-monitoring installations. This Type K thermocouple probe uses a gasket/washer format and is installed in place of the standard copper spark-plug gasket.

The probe may be installed at either the upper or lower spark plug, subject to the applicable installation documentation and the configuration of the monitored engine. As with gasket-style CHT probes, readings at the spark-plug location can differ from readings obtained with other CHT probe styles. Verify the required probe type, spark-plug gasket size and instrument configuration before purchase and installation.

JPI CHT Probe Gaskets 14mm/18mm. FAA TSO-C43/AS8005.

The Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) - Gasket Type (Washer) - probe, replaces the standard copper sparkplug gasket on the sparkplug. You may install the probe on the upper or lower spark plug (the one that provides the best correlation with the other temperature probe). Due to the sparkplug location, the gasket probe may read 25'F higher (generally the sparkplug is the hottest part of the cylinder, which will cause this discrepancy).
