The Taskem Model 5000 is a solid-state digital altimeter in the feet-display configuration. Manufacturer part number: 5000 FT.

Designed with a high-contrast 4½-digit LCD and integral backlight, the Model 5000 provides clear altitude indication for experimental and ultralight installations. Its solid-state construction is intended to withstand shock and vibration.

  • Altitude range: −1,000 to +19,990 ft (−305 to +6,093 m)
  • Resolution: 10 ft
  • Specified accuracy: 1% of reading ±100 ft (±30 m) over the specified operating temperature range
  • 4½-digit LCD with 12.7 mm character height and backlight
  • Barometric adjustment using UP/DN controls; can be set to known field elevation or zero
  • Power input: 7–30 VDC, with reverse-polarity protection
  • Rear 9 V battery holder provided for battery operation
  • Standard approximately 79 mm instrument-case outline; rear depth approximately 117 mm, or approximately 98 mm with the external battery holder removed

Approval status: Although the unit is stated to meet the accuracy requirements of FAA TSO-C10b paragraph 6.1, it is not EASA/FAA approved and is not intended for certified-aircraft installation.
