The Precision Aviation PAI-700-28V S/H is a vertical-card magnetic compass configured for Southern Hemisphere operation, with 28 V lighting.

The PAI-700 uses a magnet-driven, vertically rotating compass card viewed against a fixed miniature-aircraft lubber line. Its heading presentation is designed to show the compass card in relation to the aircraft’s line of flight, while eddy-current damping supports stable indication. The compass function operates independently of electrical power; the 28 V supply is used for lighting.
