The B&C Specialty Products L-40-BM-LR3D-14 is a 14 V, 40 A belt-driven alternator system configured with the L-40 Boss Mount kit and an LR3D-14 external controller/regulator. It is intended for homebuilt and experimental aircraft electrical-system installations.

The L-40 alternator features a dynamically balanced rotor, sealed heavy-duty ball bearings, built-in cooling fans, and a third attachment point for stable support. The Boss Mount configuration is designed for installation on the engine’s machined lower mounting pad and includes the associated mounting bracket, attachment hardware, belt tension arm, high-performance belt, and pre-wired field connector assembly.
