The Lycoming EIS Electronic Ignition System, part number 66K4A3SN-01, is a solid-state electronic ignition unit for Lycoming 4-cylinder aircraft piston engines. This configuration is intended to replace a plain or retard magneto drive and operates at fixed 20° ignition timing.

Lycoming’s EIS design has no moving parts and is intended to use existing magneto-to-engine drive gears and interfaces, existing aviation spark plugs set to the applicable OEM specification, and a Slick-style ignition harness. The unit requires a constant external electrical supply of 8.5–30 VDC.
