The APS Blacksteel Brake Disc APS164-30388 is a replacement aircraft brake disc designed within the APS Blacksteel brake-disc range.

APS describes its Blacksteel discs as CNC machined from a one-piece forging. The forged construction follows the contour of the disc grain structure, supporting a robust design without a welded disc configuration.

The proprietary Blacksteel heat treatment transforms the surface layer of the steel rather than applying a wear-off coating. It provides the characteristic black finish and is intended to improve resistance to corrosion and oxidation associated with repeated braking heat cycles.
