The APS Blacksteel Brake Disc, part number APS164-24400, is an aircraft brake disc supplied individually.

APS Blacksteel discs are CNC-machined from a one-piece forging. The forged construction follows the disc contour with directional grain flow, supporting a robust alternative to welded-disc construction.

The Blacksteel finish is produced through a proprietary heat-treatment process that transforms the surface of the steel rather than applying a conventional coating. This treatment provides the disc’s black appearance and is intended to improve resistance to corrosion and oxidation during repeated brake-system thermal cycles.
