The Sky-Tec Flyweight™ 149-12LS is a new 12 V aircraft starter in a 149-tooth, left-hand solenoid configuration. It is designed as part of Sky-Tec’s Original Flyweight™ starter range and is identified by manufacturer part number 149-12LS.

This starter uses a permanent-magnet motor and 4.3:1 gear reduction. Its electromechanical-solenoid engagement design does not use a Bendix drive.
