The E-MAG P Model ignition is an electronic ignition unit for Lycoming-style four-cylinder experimental-engine installations. Its integrated permanent-magnet alternator provides a second source of operating power and automatically transitions between aircraft bus power and internal alternator power as engine speed permits.

The P Model is part of E-MAG’s 114-series platform for four-cylinder Lycoming applications. Manufacturer part numbers associated with this product are EMA01401 and EMA01402.

  • Electronic ignition with built-in alternator
  • Automatic transition between aircraft electrical bus and internal operating power
  • Designed for Lycoming-style four-cylinder experimental-engine configurations
  • Manufacturer documentation identifies installation steps including ignition mounting, timing, manifold-pressure connection, spark plugs and plug leads, electrical connections, and blast-tube cooling

Approval status: Experimental aircraft only; not EASA/FAA approved for installation on certified aircraft.

Please confirm the applicable engine configuration, ignition drive gear, harness, spark plugs, cooling arrangement and installation hardware before purchase and installation. Refer to the current E-MAG P114 Installation and Operating Guide for complete installation, operating and maintenance instructions.
