The Matco Aircraft Landing Systems MCMC-4 is a universal master cylinder designed for use with a remote hydraulic-fluid reservoir. It may be configured for individual or dual brake applications and features an adjustable clevis to support installation setup.

  • 15.9 mm piston bore
  • Approx. 35 mm available stroke
  • Approx. 7.0 cm³ displacement
  • 1/8 in NPT hydraulic ports
  • Approx. 205 mm overall length and 191 mm mounting-hole spacing, each with a tolerance of approximately ±6 mm
  • Buna-N O-ring seals
  • Designed for vertical or horizontal mounting with an external reservoir

Matco recommends MIL-H-5606 aircraft hydraulic fluid or compatible fluids. DOT 5 fluid may be used; DOT 5.1, DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluids are not suitable for the Buna-N seals in this assembly.

Overview

MATCO mfg's MCMC-4 master cylinder uses a REMOTE reservoir. The MCMC-4 can be used in individual or dual brake applications. Buna-n orings are used in this assembly. Mil-H-5606 aircraft hydraulic fluid or compatible fluids are reccomended. DOT5 may be used but not DOT5.1 which contains glycol. DOT3 and DOT4 may not be used and will cause immediate damage to the seals.
Universal - Vertical or horizontal mounting with exterior reservoir.

Tested to a maximum of 1200 psi. Normal operation: 400-600 psi.

  • Measures 8.05 +-0.25 inches from end to end.
  • Measures 7.5 +-0.25 inches from mounting hole to mounting hole.
  • A 0.625 inch diameter piston is used.
  • Stroke is approximately 1.388 inches.
  • Displacement is 0.43 cubic inches.
  • The ports on all MATCO mfg master cylinders are 1/8 inch NPT (except the MC-4E).
