McFarlane Aviation Vernier-Assist™ throttle control, manufacturer part number MCVA455-139. This FAA-PMA approved control combines fine throttle adjustment by rotating the knob with normal coarse push-pull movement, without a conventional vernier release button.

The patented Vernier-Assist™ mechanism uses friction control rather than threaded engagement or locking balls/pins. McFarlane describes the design as providing smooth, precise throttle adjustment with a friction lock that can be overridden when required.
