McFarlane Aviation Vernier-Assist™ throttle control assembly, manufacturer part number MCVAC299505-0401. This FAA-PMA approved throttle control combines push-pull coarse adjustment with fine vernier adjustment: push or pull the knob for coarse movement, then rotate it for controlled fine adjustment.

The patented Vernier-Assist™ mechanism operates by friction rather than conventional threaded vernier engagement. McFarlane describes the design as providing smooth friction control and a friction lock that holds the selected throttle position while remaining overrideable when required.
