McFarlane Vernier-Assist™ throttle control, manufacturer part number MCVAC299505-0301. This aircraft engine control combines normal push-pull movement for coarse throttle adjustment with knob rotation for fine adjustment.

The Vernier-Assist mechanism uses a friction-based roller action rather than a conventional threaded positive-lock arrangement. The selected setting is retained by friction while allowing controlled, precise adjustment of the throttle position.
