The Tanis TA2927-1 is a 115 V multi-point engine preheat kit for eligible six-cylinder Continental, Franklin and Lycoming piston-engine installations. The system is intended to preheat the engine and associated accessories through distributed electrical heat elements.

The kit configuration includes threaded heat elements for the cylinder assemblies, installed as replacements for applicable intake-bolt or rocker-cover-screw fasteners, together with two pad heat elements for the crankcase, oil sump or oil tank. A dedicated wiring assembly provides power indication and circuit overload protection. The heating system is self-regulating by design.
