The McFarlane Aviation Vernier-Assist™ throttle control assembly, part number MCTV0005D048, is a dual throttle control intended by the manufacturer for dual-carburettor Rotax 912/914 series engines. Its patented roller-action design combines push-pull coarse adjustment with rotary fine adjustment, using a friction-lock arrangement without a push-button release.

Coarse throttle changes are made by pushing or pulling the control knob; fine adjustments are made by turning the knob. The dual control uses 1.6 mm diameter 1x7 twisted stainless-steel wire ends and has a nominal conduit length of 1.2 m. The standard barrel-shaped knob is fitted.

  • Dual throttle Vernier-Assist™ control
  • Manufacturer part number: MCTV0005D048
  • Nominal conduit length: 1.2 m
  • Maximum travel: 89 mm
  • All-metal construction with high-temperature Teflon™-lined conduit
  • Includes P/N 6408 hardware kit, threaded conduit terminals and adjustable cable stops
  • Designed for pull loads only

This control is not for use as a flight control or flight-control trim-tab control. The manufacturer states that it is not for use on certified aircraft; it should therefore be considered not EASA/FAA approved.

Overview

Vernier-Assist™ Throttle Controls for Dual Carburetor 912/914 Series Rotax Engines

Dual Throttle Control with 1/16" dia 1x7 twisted stainless steel wire ends.

Innovative design allows a neat, clean installation without a clunky splitter box

This type of control has all the fine adjustment benefits of an old style push-button release vernier control, with the simplicity, responsiveness and jam-proof safety of a friction lock control.
  • Light weight and compact behind the panel
  • Safer - No vernier threads to jam!
  • US Patent No. 8,485,057
These light weight controls use a patent pending drive mechanism. The roller action vernier provides smooth, jam-proof coarse and fine adjustment without a release button. Coarse adjustments are made by pushing the knob inwards or pulling the knob outwards. Fine adjustments are made by rotating the knob clockwise or counterclockwise.

These controls are not for use on certified aircraft, or for flight controls or flight control trim tabs.
