The A30L-CIR is a locking, screw-threaded fuel cap designed for a near-flush installation in an aircraft fuel tank skin. The cap is used with a riveted flange installed on an adjacent tank structure or on the reverse side of a wet skin.

Its installation concept is intended to allow fitting after painting, helping to reduce exposure of the cap assembly to paint-shop dirt and dust and avoiding additional masking and finishing work around the cap.
