McFarlane Aviation MCS1230-7 is an FAA-PMA carburetor heat control supplied as one unit. It is manufactured as a replacement for OEM reference S1230-7.

The control incorporates a high-temperature Teflon-lined conduit intended to reduce vibration wear and provide smooth, consistent operation. McFarlane also specifies a heavier control wire, improved friction mechanism and a scratch-resistant phenolic square knob.

Published eligibility identifies this control for Cessna 172G aircraft, serial numbers 17253393 through 17254892; 172H (T-41A), serial numbers 17254893 through 17256512; F172G, serial numbers F172-0180 through F172-0319; and F172H, serial numbers F172-0320 through F172-0559. Confirm part eligibility, configuration and installation requirements against the applicable approved maintenance data before fitting.
