This 12 V illuminated glareshield is specified for Cessna 170B aircraft from 1952 to 1956. Supplied as the 12 V lighting configuration, it is intended to provide an instrument-panel glare shield while adding panel-lighting provision.

Published Ashby Aircraft Glareshields product information describes a one-piece, hand-laminated fibreglass construction with a black, semi-gloss leather-textured finish. The glareshield is designed to help reduce reflected sunlight at the instrument panel and provide shading for panel instruments.
