The Matco Aircraft Landing Systems WHLT-8 is an 8-inch pneumatic tailwheel assembly intended for tailwheel aircraft requiring a heavier-duty tailwheel. It combines steerable and full-swivelling operation with a geometric release mechanism that allows the wheel to caster after approximately 40° of steering angle.

  • Steerable, full-swivelling tailwheel configuration
  • Cast aluminium base and fork components with black anodised finish
  • 4130 steel fork arms and wings, heat treated and corrosion protected
  • Split wheel rims to support tyre and tube fitting/removal
  • Designed for 31.8 mm or 38.1 mm wide flat leaf springs
  • Approximate overall dimensions: 284 mm long, 236 mm maximum width with arms fully splayed, and 297 mm high
