The Cozycarb coolant-based carburettor heater is designed to transfer a small amount of heat from the engine cooling system to the downstream area of the carburettor body. Its purpose is to help keep the carburettor body above freezing conditions and reduce the potential for ice formation in the carburettor throat.

The system is intended for continuous operation and heats the carburettor body rather than the intake air charge.
