The Big Screw EZ Tie-Down System is a portable ground tie-down set designed to provide a secure connection between an aircraft tie-down point and the ground. The system combines cast aluminium ground screws with detachable, weather-resistant polyester straps for use where suitable ground anchoring is required.

Each ground screw is approximately 457 mm long and features a wide screw profile intended to penetrate compacted soil. The supplied straps are approximately 2.7 m long and incorporate a single-lever locking tensioner, vinyl-coated dual S-hooks and a cast-steel attachment clip.

Overview

Big-Screw EZ Tie-Down is an innovative tie down system combining a lightweight 18” cast aluminum ground screw, and a custom aviation designed attachment strap. The 18-inch long cast aluminum screw provides stronger ground holding in all soil types. The screw penetrates deeply into compacted soils resulting in superior holding strength. This exclusive design provides two to three times the holding strength of spike type angled-in tie-downs. Large 1¾” Wide screw provides 80 Square inches of Ground Contact Area, 40 times more than a spike. The screw can be positioned either directly below or set out from aircraft attachments. Quick easy installation and removal using a 1” ratchet, 1” socket, or a portable impact wrench (not included).

The aviation designed EZ Tie-Down Straps ensure a quick and secure connection between the ground and aircraft. The 9-foot tie-down straps feature industrial strength weather-proof Polyester webbing, single lever locking strap tensioner, heavy-duty vinyl coated aircraft attachment double S-hooks, and cast steel Chrome Plated Tie-Down Clip. The detachable straps can be used on airport ramps without the ground screw offering additional versatility.
